Formerly in the collection of the musicologist H. C. Robbins (London), it was then sold at Sotheby\u2019s in 1971. It later appeared in the German art market. The instrument seems to be of the false inner-outer Italian type, but some of its features suggest it may belong to the Austrian school. The first key lever is signed \u201cJosef\u201d. The painting on the lid is attributed to Faustino Bocchi, a painter from Brescia, whereas the decorations of the case date back to the end of the nineteenth century.<\/span><\/p>\n
