Johann David Schiedmayer was the most important pupil of J. Andreas Stein from 1778 to 1781, important years for W. A. Mozart’s relationship with the great builder of Augsburg. Schiedmayer, a very skilled craftsman, brought A. Stein’s prell-mechanik to utmost perfection, it was a model that he continued to build throughout his career which ended in the early 19th century. Our replica is after the original in Germanisches National Museum of Nuremberg, one of only five surviving instruments by this author. <\/span><\/div>\n
