G. B. Giusti – Lucca 1681

Originally from Lucca, Giovanni Battista Giusti carried out his apprenticeship in the Roman workshops of Girolamo Zenti and Giuseppe Doni. Other leading Italian harpsichord makers trained with them too. This small harpsichord, dated 1681, now at the Germanisches National Museum in Nuremberg, belongs to the false inner-outer type. It has often been used for recordings by prestigious musicians due to its rich and typically Italian sound.o.
