G. Hubert – 1784

G. Hubert – 1784

Christian Gottlob Hubert was one of the leading German clavichord makers. This model from 1784, now at the St Cecilia’s Hall in Edinburgh. I personally study the technical drawing of this extraordinary instrument which, in addition to its wide range, has a deep and elegant sound, suitable for Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach’s repertoire, as well as for the sonatas by Haydn and Mozart.
