This late Viennese fortepiano is unique in its decoration. On a black-stained walnut veneer, the unknown painter has wisely adorned the whole space with elegant chinoiseries. The inside of the lid has a red lacquer bottom and features phytomorphic decorations made of metal leaf. The instrument also has an additional soundboard that sits above the strings and it also features black lacquer reliefs. The sound has a typical dark and mysterious quality, so dear to the Romantic composers.
