M. Mietke – Berlin 1700ca

The name of Michael Mietke is inextricably associated with J. S. Bach and the harpsichord he chose for the court of the Grand Elector of Saxony.

Our copies are based on the single keyboard instrument elegantly decorated with chinoiseries on a white background, at the Charlottenburg Palace in Berlin. The instrument is scaled for brass strings and has a compass of almost 5 octaves with 2 x 8’ stops.
