Hinges for Historical Instruments – Handcrafted Artistry and Functionality

Hinges are not just mechanical components: they are also artistic and decorative elements that enhance the external aesthetics of historical instruments.
Thanks to our extensive restoration experience, combined with photographic references and original technical drawings, we have recreated a faithful selection for the production of authentic historical replicas.

Each hinge is entirely handcrafted in our atelier, following traditional techniques using pierced or shaped brass, just like the original models. The result is a product that is functional, artistic, and structurally solid, meticulously crafted to meet the needs of professionals, instrument makers, and restorers.

Technical Details:

  • Removable pin in 313 steel for easy lid detachment.
  • Iron screws available upon request.
  • Treated with a protective metal oil to prevent oxidation, or optionally with an acrylic finish for longer-lasting protection.
  • Custom finishes available on request: antiqued, polished, or satin.

Materials:

We use CW612N brass, also known as “watchmaker’s brass” – one of the strongest brass alloys available, ideal for ensuring the durability of instrument lids.
Although challenging to work with, this material guarantees excellent strength, quality, and performance.

🔔 Important note:
All hinges and closures are custom-made to order. Due to the handcrafted nature of the work and the variety of available models, stock may be limited. Need some custom hinge or different sizes? Contact us.
We strongly recommend placing your order well in advance to ensure availability of your preferred model.
